Campbell’s Prime Meats Ltd is one of Scotland’s leading butchery distributors. Supporting local Scottish farmers, Campbell’s Prime Meats supplies many of the regions hotels, restaurants and public sector organisations with quality meat products. With a combined commercial fleet of 84 refrigerated HGV’s and LCV’s Campbell’s Prime Meats makes around 2200 deliveries each day.

Campbell’s Prime Meats supply many customers in the hospitality sector who rely on efficient, reliable, high levels of service from suppliers – ensuring the deliveries arrive on time and customers know when deliveries are scheduled. With a large amount of deliveries and many vehicles making numerous stops, streamlined co-ordination of vehicle activity is essential in the smooth running of business processes.
With internal objectives to reduce operational costs and maximise customer service levels, telematics became a suitable tool to assist in achieving targets.

Information on excessive idling, route deviation and delivery start and finish times are automatically available in the form of email reporting and this information has been fundamental in streamlining our business processes as well as improving the efficiency of delivery routes”. “We have seen substantial reductions in the overall running costs of the fleet. Masternaut has reduced the unnecessary wastage of diesel by flagging up instances of excessive idling and ‘off route’ journey exceptions – Masternaut has allowed us to route our vehicles for best efficiency, which has saved Campbell’s approximately 15% on fuel costs. We have also benefited from reductions in our vehicle insurance premiums and have been able to tightly monitor overtime to eliminate false claims ensuring that payroll is accurate”.
