Erimus proves fuel savings with Masternaut GreenerFleet
Social housing organisation Erimus Housing has implemented the carbon-reducing, fuel-saving GreenerFleet solution from Masternaut Three X. The Middlesbrough-based association has implemented the advanced web-based vehicle tracking and emissions management solution across its 100 plus fleet of building maintenance vehicles. In only three months, Erimus has seen a reduction in fuel usage and an overall improvement in driver safety. In addition, the real-time system is enabling Erimus to develop enhanced services for vulnerable tenants and is supporting productivity gains.
Erimus, part of the Fabrick Housing Group chose Masternaut vehicle tracking with GreenerFleet for its advanced functionality combined with ease of use, adaptability and host of expansion possibilities, and its ability to provide seamless integration with its back office system and PDA-based mobile worker systems. Erimus is also trialling remote mobile access to the system using the Rapide PDA-based version of the system.
“The GreenerFleet element of the system has helped us sell it to the workforce as our staff understand the need for us to use an environmental management tool. Therefore implementation and roll-out has been straightforward. We are able to use the system reports to show them exactly how much fuel they have used in any given period and flag up excessive idling. Speeding incidents have also been reduced drastically, which pays dividends in fuel savings and in safety. It is a good all-round solution,” says Mark Robson, Head of Property Maintenance, Erimus Housing.
Each Erimus maintenance vehicle is assigned to a specific tradesperson. Using the real-time web-based interface Robson and his team can readily identify the exact location of each operator. This has enabled the maintenance department to develop quick-reaction services to vulnerable tenants, helping locate and send appropriately skilled personnel to deal with urgent issues. This rapid location of key workers is also enabling efficiency improvements in general.
Erimus is considering enhancing the system with the addition of VisuLive, Masternaut Three X’s revolutionary performance management tool that provides managers with an instant check on activities and performance through large graphics and visuals including graphs, charts, maps and even bird’s eye views of field-based mobile workers using aerial photography.
