Leading FM Company Enterprise plc Extends Use of Masternaut Vehicle Tracking to Maximise Fleet Effciency

Masternaut, the UK’s leading online Telematics Service Provider, has won another major order from Enterprise plc, the nationwide provider of asset maintenance and refurbishment services for utilities, public and private sector companies. The Power Services Division of Enterprise will now implement Masternaut’s Masternaut vehicle tracking into its entire LCV fleet – used to maintain overhead power lines and substations across the country for utility providers including the Scottish Power, SSE, Central Networks and EDF Energy.

Masternaut will enable Enterprise to analyse its workforce activities and implement strategic cost reduction, compliance with legislation and customer service enhancements. This is the most recent order in the Government and Utilities sector for Masternaut and follows a period of strong growth by the company across the UK and Europe.

“We expect real ROI from this solution in terms of workforce productivity and fuel cost reduction,” commented Nick Maggs, Managing Director, Enterprise’s Power Service Division. “The utility service sector is increasingly competitive and for us to maintain a competitive advantage we need to make strategic analysis of our cost base whilst maintaining our high levels of customer service and duty of care to our employees. The day-to-day operational tools and data provided by Masternaut will enable us to achieve this. Masternaut committed to provide us with a configurable solution – every time we put a challenge to Masternaut’s software engineers and service managers they were able to come back with a positive answer.”

Masternaut has established a leading position within Utilities, Local Authorities and the Public Sector through its acquisition of Amatics in 2007. Customers include Scottish Water, Northern Ireland Energy and The Highways Agency, as well as companies providing third party services such as Enterprise.

“In the current economic climate more and more organisations are turning to telematics technology to provide a clear overview of their business,” commented Steve Towe, Managing Director- Europe, Masternaut. “Telematics provides businesses of all sizes with the management information and tools to drive down operational cost whilst providing opportunities for service level initiatives that can aid future growth – we are proud to be working alongside such a nationally recognised brand as Enterprise.”

Masternaut vehicle tracking technology is used throughout multiple divisions of the Enterprise group – including the Optima Infrastructure Management division and for the monitoring of gritters and gully emptying vehicles in the Enterprise Highways division.
